Often called as the miniature version of Las Vegas, the city of Reno is located on the northern side of US state of Nevada. It serves as the county seat for Washoe County and is situated just 36 miles from the famous Lake Tahoe. It is referred to as the ‘Biggest Little City in the World’ and is known for its myriad of casinos. With a population of 225,221 (US Census 2010), Reno is the third largest populous city in the state of Nevada, right after Las Vegas and Henderson.
Till 1950’s the economy of Reno city greatly depended on its casinos but after the growth of Las Vegas, this has reduced over here. However, gambling is still quite big in the city, which gets its influx of tourists mainly from San Francisco and Sacramento.
